Cookie Time

Tis' the season for some holiday goodies. These are NOT healthy. Butter, sugar and white flour. I put together little packages for our wonderful teachers and neighbours. I signed them "to health, happiness and peace in 2013", which is what I hope for all in this upcoming year. I also think it is really nice to get homemade gifts, so every year I try to include some of these gifts.
the most amazing biscotti! and super easy to make.
lemon shortbread

Tea for Two.

I have been thinking about Newtown a lot over the last few days. The pictures and names of these beautiful souls and the devestation of so many families. My heart goes out to all of them. Today was our  "strike" day. It came at a good time, a much needed day off allowing us to all have some quiet play. Aidan had his best bud over for a little date. They drank peppermint tea, ate latkes and talked star wars. It is what kids should be doing. I hope you all get to have a peaceful day with your little one, keeping them just a bit closer for today.

O' Chanukah O' Chanukah

The kids have been singing this song for days!!

Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
Come light the menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the hora
Gather 'round the table
We'll give you a treat
Sivivon to play with and latkes to eat

     And while we are playing
     The candles are burning low
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
to remind us of days long ago

Simple Things.

Simple things. Homemade baby food while the kids keep themselves busy with a box. Life can be so simple.
