from old to new....

i love old furniture. the older the better. aidan's dresser was originally bought some 30 years ago for ewan from the salvation army. i have been meaning to paint it for a year and finally yesterday i got it done. of course, as i am all set up and ready to go it starts to pour rain. thank goodness for my covered porch!  the amazing thing about the dresser are the knobs. i saw them on http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/974139.jsp but ended up getting them from the "shuk" (market) in Jaffa, Israel that my parents picked up for me on their last trip for a fraction of the price. i love these knobs! they are slowly making their way onto all kinds of pieces! aidan chose the ones he liked and was quite pleased with the end result.  i am actually going to Israel in a few weeks and am going to pick up more of these charming pieces.....maybe i'll open an etsy shop and sell them!  stay tuned for the hutch i am going to start painting tomorrow, it's only been about 5 years i've been wanting to do that project and wait til' you see the knobs on it!
